They say that the best surprise is no surprise, and this is especially true when searching for a condo or apartment that allows pets. It can be frustrating to fall in love with the perfect building, only to learn that your ‘fur-kid’ is too tall or is above the weight restrictions. While Chicago is among the most ‘dog friendly’ cities not all buildings cater to pets and as such it is vitally important to choose properties from an updated list of buildings that put out the welcome mat to pet-parents.
Some of today’s pet friendly buildings are replete with pet-centered amenities such as dog runs, pet elevators and poop-bag dispensers near the potty areas. And local pet business operators are eager to be a valuable part of the pet experience by offering their services, such as bonded dog-walkers, transportation to and from doggie daycares, grooming spas, veterinarians that do condo visits, and pet boutiques. Remember that condo laws change, so always talk with the management company about the current pet laws and rules.

This is a partial list, but we are continuing to update the list, which includes: Near North (River North, Gold Coast, Streeterville & Old Town), Loop (New East Side & Millinium Park), Near South, Lincoln Park & Lakeview areas.
